Description: Published with two engravings in El mentor de la infancia. Periódico de los niños, 1843, 8: 113-128. It is a rewrite in verse of the story “The Retributive Banquet”, by Telesforo de Trueba y Cosío (1830), which is translated into Spanish by Mauglaez in 1840. The only novelty that adds with respect to both texts are the ten last verses, in which he makes a call for the unity of the Castilian people around the king and religion, with the background of the struggle against the Muslim invader in the Reconquista (Ribao Pereira, Montserrat [2019b],  “El gabán de Enrique III en la narrativa breve decimonónica”,  Estudios Humanísticos. Filología, 41: 48).
